PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Gaming announced today $41,571,869 in tribal gaming contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund for the first quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. This amount represents a 2.1 percent increase when compared to same quarter of FY2022. “Arizona’s tribal gaming industry continues to impress, with a quarterly contribution record of $41.6 million to the Arizona Benefits Fund,” said Ted Vogt, Director, ADG. “This follows record levels of tribal gaming contributions in the last fiscal year, highlighting the growth of tribal gaming since the signing of the amended Tribal-State Gaming Compacts by Governor Ducey and Arizona Tribes in 2021.”

The Arizona Benefits Fund receives 88 percent of tribal gaming contributions, providing significant dollars to help support instructional improvement in schools, trauma and emergency care, tourism and wildlife conservation throughout the state. Since 2004, there has been $1.7 billion in tribal contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund. Per the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Tribes with casinos contribute a percentage of their Class III gross gaming revenue to the state, cities, towns and counties. Currently, there are 24 Class III casinos in Arizona, which ADG regulates with Arizona tribes.
